Start by adding half a fresh lemon to a cup of water before you microwave. Lemon half will be hot when you remove it, but after it cooled off a little, run it through your food waste disposal unit to refresh it, too.
Following up using white vinegar as a natural disinfectant. Dip a microfibre cloth in a 50/50 solution of vinegar water, wring it out until slightly wet and use it to wipe down the surfaces.
