"We wanted to create a space where people can interact, but it is also adaptable. Children can sit there and do homework without covering themselves from the rest of the room."

"It's all about keeping it flexible," says Kingham, 'but we wanted to find a bar area on the opposite side of the island not sink, as it would obstruct the view through to the dining room. "
