When the kitchen units extend the full height of the external wall in the return side and there is a lot of glass in the roof, there is little space available for the lamp. Fitting them under the wall cabinets is optional. It sends a useful task lighting down to the worktop without cluttering the walls or roof space.
Here, the light from under the extractor fan reflects on the glass splashback, further increasing the light levels.

Reaching from the side

Remember, though, that the sightlines through the room and out through any glass doors at the rear will be distracted by something big or bright. Choose a small pendant for a more subtle effect, probably in bronze on-trend or copper, which will reflect the natural light from the outside off the surface.

Side back so often of glass and natural light, but they can about lighting a statement as well. This is incredible, futuristic wall lamp like tentacles reaching into space illuminated. They bring light to the dining room, which has a ceiling rather than glass, but will work brilliantly with a glass roof, too.
