needs crowded, large families are very central to this design homely kitchen, featuring wooden pallets warm, soft gray and off-white. Key is a stylish, extra-long island that serves as a breakfast bar - now the epicenter of family life.
"They are a very close family and everyone sits around the island at night," Fennelly said. "This is also where all the food is prepared, so it's important to have plenty of worktop space and practical storage."
The Silestone worktops made from white, with long, curved oak contrast to the breakfast bar. There are two reasons for the contrast, Fennelly said. "One is that the slab has a maximum length of 30mm when cut. The other is that I think it's good to have the choice to sit on the island where the arms and hands do not touch the cold stone. It also breaks down what could be a big slab stone without other features. "

The kitchen was originally 2m shorter, with a laundry room located where Aga now, Fennelly said. "The wall at the end of this meant I could not fit the length of the island that I need for my family and grandchildren. As a big house, with a laundry room another upstairs, I suggest moving all there.
" The homeowners jumped at the idea when they saw the design, immediately hired a builder and get advice from a structural engineer to help remove the wall. "

If you have a room, a roomy pantry closet is a must, says Fennelly. It shows beautifully how the door can easily hide elements that often mess up the kitchen, such as toasters and coffee makers.
"We designed this in a way that it acts as an employment center for the kitchen. By closing the door, the family had worktops clutter-free.
" A large, double-door pantry can hold all household food, and we always try to add electrical sockets for toasters and juicers to limit how much equipment on display, "he added.
