"Part of making this work both utilize the kitchen cabinets in the island for storage," says Dadswell. "We also added a wine cooler, built in extra storage under the seat and in addition, and designed a large bank neat closet hides a refrigerator, an oven and a mop."

Dadswell and his clients think long and hard about the style and design of the tiled splashback, because they want them to add softness to the room rather than a clinical edge.
"We chose these tiles because they have not perfect, light-reflective surfaces," said the designer. "We had them put in graphics, style mid-century. We also use nat gray very pale, which will not turn yellow, and use it on the tile floor, too.

"this project exceeded my expectations," says Dadswell. "it has the light is really beautiful, airy feel during the day, and three circuits of different lighting means it feels very comfortable at night, as well. "
