Kitchen of the Week: A Classic Design That Will Stand the Test of Time

Kitchen of the Week: A Classic Design That Will Stand the Test of Time When marketing consultant Charlotte and her family moved from London to Hertfordshire, he is not looking for a renovation project, but spacious home in Hertford in 1920 proved too tempting to refuse. As a kitchen designer Jeremy Friendship recalls, "When I first stepped through the door, it was stripped right back to basics and definitely in need of a major overhaul. "

Charlotte contacted Jeremy following a recommendation from a friend and gave him the simplest of briefs: to maximize the use of space in the new extension and create a kitchen that would blend easily with the rest of the house." Charlotte wants a kitchen that will survive in the test of time and not look out of place as you move through to the older part of the house, "said Jeremy.

The result is calming scheme in a muted palette of soft gray and white, with enough space to accommodate a growing family. "It's very much the heart of the home," said Jeremy. "And it sits perfectly balanced between contemporary and traditional, so it will never date."
